FAQ

  • ARE YOU ABLE TO TELL ME THE GENDER OF MY BABY?
YES!! By Ultrasound : Starting at 14 weeks We offer Gender Determination packages starting at 14 weeks (although many claim they can guarantee at 13 weeks, we feel it’s worth the wait for just a week or so to get a better outcome). By Blood Test: As little as 8 weeks!! Results within 2 days ( *Not Offered by Little Star Imaging)
  • WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
Please, HYDRATE for at least 2-3 days before the scan. This is for your benefit, and will allow for the best possible picture. You don’t have to have a full bladder during the scan, so don’t worry we won’t make you suffer!! We like if you could bring proof of your first doctors appointment. (A receipt, appointment card, first ultrasound picture, etc.) **Women weighing over 200 pounds should try and wait until 16-17 weeks for best results of gender determination. Now is not the time to worry about what the scale says, just save that energy for a healthy and happy pregnancy!
  • IS THIS THE SAME ULTRASOUND THAT DOCTORS USE?
YES! We actually do have the same high-definition ultrasound technology that doctors use but we only do elective prenatal ultrasounds, strictly to capture those precious pictures for entertainment only. Little Star Imaging does not do diagnostics or give any medical advice whatsoever. However, we can let you know the gender, how many babies, the position of the baby, and the location of the placenta, along with confirming the heartbeat. In fact, we request proof that you have first seen a Doctor before you come visit us at Little Star Imaging. This can be your first 2D scan picture, but a receipt from your appointment or proof of payment to your doctor is requested. We just want to make sure that you start your pregnancy first and foremost by being seen by a qualified physician. **Please note: our ultrasound scans should never be used as a replacement of a diagnostic ultrasound by your doctor.
  • DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
No, unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. The ultrasounds we provide are elective and/or for entertainment only. They create lifetime memories for your family, but unfortunately are not covered by insurance.
  • WHAT IS AN ELECTIVE 3D/4D ULTRASOUND?
When you find out that you are about to begin that special journey as a mom, we feel that an elective ultrasound is the first step in creating one of life’s defining moments. When you first lay eyes on that precious little baby all snuggled in your womb, it’s impossible to explain with only words. A picture starts the bonding process not only for Mom but for the whole family. Many of us would’ve loved to look back at the first glimpse of our humanity inside our Mothers wombs. It truly is a memory created for a Lifetime.
  • WILL I ALWAYS GET A PERFECT SCAN?
Little Star Imaging tries our best to provide you with the most wonderful pictures of that beautiful baby of yours, sometimes they can be a little uncooperative!! We usually get great pictures, but as you can imagine, on any given day, those Little Stars like to sometimes hide behind the placenta or just don’t want to come out and play. If we think we can get a good scan by encouraging Mom to get up and maybe have some juice or chocolate to get baby to wake up, we will try, but we can’t let our schedule get too far behind for other customers. We do offer one free re-do if it appears we just aren’t going to get a decent picture. This needs to be scheduled on another day within a week please; we will try again but cannot guarantee perfection.
  • CAN I BRING FAMILY AND FRIENDS?
YES!! We encourage you to bring your friends, family, the neighborhood to your Litte Star experience. This is such a wonderful experience that we couldn’t imagine not having your loved ones and friends there to share the memory. We can comfortably sit between 10 and up to 22 after that it gets a little cozy. Children under 3 might need to have Dad or Grandma or a friend keep an eye on them to let Mom be able to get the most out of the Ultrasound. We also offer toys for the kids to keep them entertained.
  • WHAT ARE THE BEST TIMES TO SEE THE BABY?
It is always fun to see the baby especially at the gender determination appointment but to actually your little star and chubby cheeks we recommend 20+ weeks. You can, of course, decide what works best for you.
